| So....I got my gargantuan Duke application in the mail today. I'm definitely going to fill it out. If I get rejected...that definitely makes my life a lot easier...
but just a little disappointing =(
If I would somehow get accepted, it'd make me lose hours of sleep and probably 6 years off my life span from worrying so much about making the right decision...
but that means at least something in my life went the right way =)
Anyways, I'll let you know what happens...in like May...lol. Wow...can't wait til then...we'll be getting ready to graduate...yay!
| Do you ever wonder if the path you have chosen...is the path that you really wanted? | | |
| In my mind, I play these scenarios to make myself happy. I'll create these...I dunno..daydreams?...of exactly what I want to happen in my life. I mean, I do this with everything. Because they are dreams for the future, it makes me happy. But as things pass, I always come to the realization that those dreams are never going to come true.
Today, however, I realized that I live in a daydream of the present. I live in this elaborate pretend world where I am surrounded by all of the things that make life meaningful. But every once and a while the dream falters, and I realize I am alone in an inevitable reality, that I can not change.
Sometimes I just wish that instead of always having to pretend a world where things go right...Life could just go right, on its own.
| The L fell off my keyboard...if anyone can put it back on...please let me know.

| I was reading the USA today...uh...today, lol. But anyways there was an article about this guy who is supposedly the like spokesperson for people that oppose gay marriage and support an amendment defining marriage as a union between a man and woman. Anyways....this guy says that he had no father figure in his life...and he doesn't want any child to grow up that way. His argument is that we need to ban gay marriage to protect the children. How exactly an argument such as this can be justified...I don't really know. The point of this post is that it was refreshing to see that all of the letters in response that that article were asking similar questions. Not just people that are pro-gay marriage...but people that just are...indifferent about the whole thing. People just saying...honestly is there any valid argument against the sanctity of gay marriage? Because if that guy is right...and one needs two parents for a "healthy and secure" childhood...what about the single parents out there who do a darn good job raising their children? Even if that is beside the point...I'm pretty sure that gay or not...two loving parents are two loving parents? That guy definitely put his foot in his mouth, one has to admit, pro gay marriage or not.
Just a little tid-bit.
